1st – 17th: TULCA Festival of Visual Arts

Now in its 17th year, TULCA Festival of Visual Arts is a multi-venue, artist-centred festival of contemporary art in Galway City and County. 

2nd November: Turf Warrior Challenge

The Turf Warrior Challenge offers the chance to round off the season in a flurry of mud and sweat on the banks of Killary Harbour in Co. Galway. Said to be the toughest course in Ireland, it promises to test competitors’ stamina, nerve and camaraderie.

9th – 10th: Galway Cartoon Festival

The Galway Cartoon Festival is an international celebration of funny drawings. The festival runs over 11 days and showcases some of the most talented cartoonists from Ireland and abroad across 6 venues throughout Galway city.
10th – 14th: 25th Junior Film Festival

Galway’s Junior Film Fleadh is the youth arm of the prestigious Galway Film Fleadh. The new Pálás arthouse cinema and cultural space is home to the 5 day festival. The Junior Film Fleadh continues its emphasis on being a festival for everyone, while keeping the focus on young people.

11th – 24th November: Galway Science & Technology Festival

The 22nd Festival – Ireland’s largest event promoting STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Medicine). This year’s theme is ‘Climate Action’.

15th November – 22nd December:  Galway Christmas Market
Opening Times Monday – Wednesday 12.00 to 20.00, Thursday – Sunday 10.00 to 22.00. With over 50 wooden chalets located on Eyre Square along with the Santa’s Grotto, the German Bier Keller and artisan food products and Christmas gift ideas from both local and European traders.

17th November: Connacht Rugby

Connacht Rugby play host to Montpellier at The Sportsground in the Heineken Champions Cup on Sunday 17th November 2019. Kick-off at 1pm.

23rd November – 5th January: Galway Skates
Situated along the promenade overlooking Galway Bay the ice rink is located in the main hall at Leisureland.

29th November – 23rd December: Elf Town
Elf Town Galway is an interactive journey located over 4 floors at Ballybrit Race Course. Children will have the opportunity to meet the Snow Princess visit the Elf Grove, the elves workshop, meet Mrs. Claus and a personal trip to meet Santa.

30th November: Connacht Rugby

Connacht Rugby play host to Southern Kings at The Sportsground in the Guinness Pro14 on Saturday 30th November 2019. Kick-off at 17.15pm.

December:

15th November – 22nd December:  Galway Christmas Market

A professional interactive family show full of fun, music and Christmas magic with Santa and his special elf. The visit will last approximately 2 ½ hours, with Mrs Claus and other activities for the first 1½ hours, followed by Santa's Christmas Magic Show. Shows held on Saturdays and Sundays and Monday 23rd.

14th December: Connacht Rugby

Connacht Rugby play host to Gloucester at The Sportsground in the Heineken Champions Cup on Saturday 14th December 2019. Kick-off at 12.45pm.

25th December: Christmas Day Swim for COPE
Held each year on Christmas morning between 10.00 and 13.00 at Blackrock, Salthill, Galway. Support COPE by taking a dip while and raising funds to help vulnerable and isolated men, women and families in Galway.
