The annual Hallowe'en parade by Macnas, will take place on Sunday 30th October 2016 at approximately 5.30pm. This years parade is called 'Saving Grace' and as you would expect from the internationally renowned street theatre group, Macnas will be putting on a street-hopping, traffic-stopping party with a host of new giants, performances, bespoke costumes and live original music all drenched in their award-winning design. Spectators are encouraged to wear costumes too!
Monster Dash
The annual Monster Dash in aid of On The Road Again (OTRA) will take place on Halloween, Saturday 29th October at 7pm. The event starts and finishes outside The King's Head and the route will take participants around the streets of Galway. The inaugural event in 2013 proved to be a 'spooktacular' success with participants joining in the theme of the event by dressing up in costume. This year again there will be a scarily good prize for the best costume, as well as prizes in all the usual categories. Prizes will be presented immediately following the event in The King's Head. Online entry to be confirmed shortly.
A full line-up of events for the Galway Aboo Hallowe'en Festival to be announced shortly.

Just in the door: Certificate of Excellence

The Galway International Arts Festival is the Festival of extraordinary experiences, a creative collision of performance, music, visual art, theatre and spectacle. Whether turning a small Irish city on its head for two weeks, taking work on an international tour, or being a forceful year-round presence, every experience of the Galway International Arts Festival is an unforgettable encounter.
Strolling along the cobbled streets, every turn offers the possibility for new adventure; surreal giant puppets snaking through the streets, enchanting music, enthralling musicans and awe-inspiring street theatre.
The 2015 Festival highlights

As in previous years, the festival’s Scottish connection will be retained with an array of performers travelling from Galway’s cultural partner Stirling to take part. Events take place in the Town Hall Theatre and in pubs throughout the city with sessions planned in predominantly in The Crane Bar but also in The King's Head, Tigh Choili’s, Taaffe’s Bar ,The Quays, Tigh Neachtains, and Monroe’s Tavern.

Our latest guest review from Anniek:
Nice apartments. Big and clean. Great view Great location. Because of the good weather it was too warm
in the apartments and because we were on a low level we could not leave windows open at night.
Parking spaces at the back of the apartments were very narrow. For the rest I would rate it very high.

When do you put your Christmas decorations up?
In Ireland this year there is a hot discussion in media about when is it the right time to start the festive season. We all know shops start to display the Christmas stock just after Halloween. The charity radio station Christmas FM has bounded back onto the airwaves from 1st December.
What's your opinion? Are you one of the people who get fed-up with the start of Christmas craze earlier every year? Do you think it’s all just too commercial now? Are you bored of Christmas by the time it actually arrives? Share it with us on our Facebook page if you wish.
We put up our Christmas tree just the other day and we love it!
